All our rooms are comfortable and have either views of Lough Corrib or the Connemara Mountains. Peace and tranquillity are the order of Currarevagh, with 180 acres of private lake shore woodland to explore, our own boats for guests use and many other activities.

Currarevagh house Hotel is a gracious early Victorian Manor House Hotel in Galway, set in 160 acres of parkland and woodland bordering on Lough Corrib. Built by the Hodgson Family in 1842, 100 metres from the original house, it is presently run by Harry and June Hodgson and has been open to guests for over 60 years.Currarevagh (pronounced "Curra-reeva") still retains the atmosphere of a bygone age where the emphasis is on old-fashioned hospitality and service. While the Manor House is little changed from its original layout, all fifteen guest bedrooms have private bathrooms with bath and/or shower each with hairdryers.Currarevagh has been winner of a number of awards but most coveted is "The Cesar Award" of the "Good Hotel Guide" for "The Quintessence of Irish Hospitality".

Currarevagh prides itself on its consistently high standard providing tasty, interesting local food, from the sumptuous Edwardian style Breakfast each morning, to long, laxy afternoon teas and splendid four course dinner each evening.

We also have a Hatch Bar with spirits, beers, and a wine list of 65 bins.

Oughterard is a lovely historic village on the shores of Lough Corrib, it has a thatched cottage pub and buildings with traditional stone fronts and a 19th century church. Oughterard set at the gateway of the Connemara Mountain area. It an ideal location with many shops, pubs and restaurants which will give one an experience a small Irish village. It is a good starting point to explore connemara.

The Owenriff River runs through Oughterard starting in the Connemara mountains flowing into Lough Corrib.

Lough Corrib is a world-renowned fishing spot with fresh water trout and salmon bring fishermen worldwide to its shores.
